We have had a Remembrance morning in school, whereby students held discussions, wrote poems, conducted readings, performed monologues, observed a silence and made poppies – it was organised by the Student Leadership Team – they then decorated the trees outside the main entrance during afternoon with the poppies the children had made, so that they could see them before they went home in their taxis.

I hope you are well, and that you have enjoyed the break.

You will be aware that School begins again for all students at 8.50 am on Thursday 3rd September. We will be carefully following the latest Government guidance, which you can access from the following link:

As before, your child will be required to maintain social distancing before entering the main entrance of the building. On entry they will be asked to sanitise their hands. As previously, we will be operating the 2 metre social distancing protocols, with each room set out accordingly, and a teacher zone. Rooms will be well ventilated and sanitiser will be available. Each Group will operate as a bubble in order to minimise contact. Students will be discharged onto transport on a staggered basis from 1.55pm each day; those who walk home will be allowed to leave site at this time each day.

We are extremely proud of the Class of 2020 who have achieved some of the best results we have seen as a school. They have worked hard not only at securing qualifications, but also on developing their characters and this perseverance is inspiring for many. As a school, we will really miss them and look forward to hearing what they achieve at both college and further in their lives.

EHS at Home 

I hope you and your families are well. Yesterday Dominic Raab, speaking on behalf of the Prime Minister, reiterated the Government’s position on the current lock down imposed on 23rd March. In his address, Mr Raab said that although they would offer an update on Thursday 16th April, the Government “don’t expect to make any changes to the measures currently in place at that point”.

Last night the Prime Minister instructed the nation to behave responsibly in response to the Corona Virus crisis. Specifically, he said:

 “The single most important action we can all take … is to stay at home … Stopping all gatherings of more than two people … Every citizen must comply”~
