  • In our behaviours, our dealings with others.

  • The desire and ability to understand and moderate our behaviour .

  • The ability to display common decency and understanding towards each other.

  • Feelings of high self-worth and due regard to the importance of others.

  • To avoid arrogance in our views, words and actions; express gratitude for positives.

  • The ability to see and do the morally right things; to treat all with parity and equality.

  • Our ability to co-operate with, value the role of, and give space to others.

  • To inspire confidence in ourselves and express confidence in others .

  • Our ability to speak properly and non-verbally communicate well: objectively, politely, clearly and confidently.

  • Our ability to see and aim towards long term goals, beyond our immediate emotional reaction to something; our ability to not give up easily until we reach our goal .

  • Fairness in our judgements and thoughts.

  • For our actions, and our accountable areas.

Our Vision Statement is:

We equip our young people with the knowledge, skills and opportunities necessary to achieve their potential; we inspire creative, independent and critical thinkers; we build confidence, passion and self-esteem in a nurturing, safe and encouraging learning community; we aim to develop citizens who can excel in their endeavours and contribute positively to society.

  • At Egerton High School our core aims are:

To provide an quality education which places importance on the development of the whole person - academically, emotionally and socially.

To provide an environment where each student is required to develop to the full extent of their ability, where each person is valued and is made aware that they have the potential to make a positive contribution to the school community.

To help every learner to build a good self image.

To provide interesting and engaging learning opportunities designed to promote the basic skills of communication, language, literacy and numeracy, opening the gateway to academic and vocational qualifications.

To foster and develop aesthetic, cultural and creative understanding, to introduce students into the world of the arts, to develop a sense of heritage and appreciation for the locality, community and world, and to develop a sense of spiritual awareness.

To build strong relationships between home and school. To provide equal opportunities and treat all individuals fairly.

To value and celebrate the diversity of our society and to promote respect and tolerance.

To use technology where appropriate to enhance the children’s learning.

  • At Egerton High School, we actively promote positive, inclusive values. These include:
    - Democracy
    - The rule of law
    - Individual liberty
    - Mutual respect
    - Tolerance of those of different faiths and beliefs.

We believe British values are those values expected of anyone living in Britain, regardless of their nationality, culture or religious belief. Our ethos reflects these values. We place great emphasis on building positive relationships in school, amongst the students themselves and between staff and students. We strongly believe students should not merely be taught such values but that they are embedded into school life and how we do things .We strive to support our students to develop into confident, happy, successful young adults who have empathy towards and an understanding of those less fortunate than themselves .The provision map below reflects how Egerton High School works to promote positive values through the ethos and life of the school, for example through our curriculum, and through social, moral, cultural and spiritual development.
