Simon has been a Governor at Egerton High School since November 2015. He sits on the Learning, Teaching, Achievement and Curriculum Committee. He is very keen to support the Headmaster and his team of dedicated and passionate staff who work tirelessly to improve and enrich the lives of the children in their care.
Simon is a barrister who practises from Chambers in Manchester but finds himself working across the country wherever he is needed. He has practised as a barrister for the last 10 years since completing his post-graduate qualifications. His expertise principally lies in the field of criminal law where he helps many people, young and old, who struggle with behavioural difficulties and often have been unable to access the educational opportunities available to them. It is his experiences as a barrister that motivated him to become a Governor at a school for children with behavioural difficulties. He hopes that his skills can be of assistance to his fellow Governors and the staff and pupils at Egerton.
Simon is a big fan of sport, avidly following football, cricket and rugby union. His true allegiance is to Arsenal football club. Although he has lived in the North West for the last 15 years, his roots are in the South of the country. He lives in Altrincham with his wife and their 3 year old son, with a daughter on the way later this year.
